PIPE - Diameter compute

1. You must move a fluid which has a temperature of 75 °F and a pressure of 58.5 lb/in2 inlet of pipe, and a temperature of 60°F and a pressure of 24.5 ln/in2 outlet of pipe.

The composition of the feed is 100% Methane.

If it should move 150 000 000 ft3/day through of a Commercial steel pipe 2 mile, calculate the diameter. The environment temperature is 70°F.

Make click on FILE, on OPEN,and look for "Test L1.da3" file, then click OK. check it up all datum are right. Then click in CALCULE

It should not take more 1 second:

The diameter calculated will be: 24.25 inches, but this diameter doesn't exist, 24 inches of Diameter nominal is recommendable. The cost of the pipe (FOB) is 8,6MM US$ @ 2008.

2. You have a pipe, which move water for 70 meters, if the pressure inlet is 2.7 atm and outlet is 2.07 atm. What is the diameter of this pipe?. Temperature of water is 15 °C. Material is Commercial steel.

Make click on FILE, on OPEN,and look for "Test L3.da3" file, then click OK. check it up all datum are right. Then click in CALCULE

It should not take more 1 second:

The diameter calculated will be: 3.2 inches, but this diameter doesn't exist, 3.5 inches of Diameter nominal is recommendable. The cost of the pipe (FOB) is 17,5 M US$ @ 2008.
